Storm Born Mushrooms started with a fascination with fungi and grew into something bigger.

What began as curiosity about the incredible world of mushrooms quickly became a passion for cultivation, genetics, mycology and the process of turning a tiny piece of mycelium into something thriving and alive.

Today, Storm Born Mushrooms is about more than growing mushrooms.

It’s about learning, experimenting, sharing knowledge, and building a community around mycology.

Meet Crystal

Hi, I’m Crystal Lane King, the woman behind Storm Born Mushrooms.

I didn’t start this journey knowing everything about mycology. I started because I wanted to learn.

I experimented. I made mistakes. I celebrated successful grows and learned from the ones that didn’t go according to plan. Somewhere along the way, mushroom cultivation stopped being simply an interest and became something I genuinely wanted to share with other people.

That experience still shapes Storm Born today.

I believe mycology should feel exciting and approachable- not intimidating. Whether someone is pouring their first agar plate, working with liquid culture, experimenting with genetics, or harvesting a beautiful flush of gourmet mushrooms, there is always something new to discover.
